Howe, Shatner stars to be replaced

Damaged stars belonging to Mr. Hockey and Captain Kirk on Canada’s Walk of Fame in Toronto will be replaced.
The people behind the walk state new plaques have been ordered for former Detroit Red Wings right-winger Gordie Howe and Star Trek actor William Shatner.
They state the City of Toronto will install the new plaques as soon as possible.
The attraction’s CEO and president Peter Soumalias states some of the older plaques on the 12-year-old walk have suffered some damage due to wear and tear and weather.
Marty Howe, son of the NHL player, told The Canadian Press on Monday the family wants the plaque replaced. His dad did not know of the damage, he said.
Shatner tweeted about his damaged plaque on Twitter after being contacted by reporters.
